Benjamin is an Oscar winning writer/director from Dublin. He has recently completed his directorial debut 'Swan Song', starring Mahershala Ali, Naomie Harris, Glenn Close and Awkwafina. He made a virtual reality animation called 'Glimpse' starring Taron Egerton & Lucy Boynton with his companies Mr Kite and By Ghost. Glimpse won awards at Cannes and Annecy and won best UK experience at Raindance and best interactive experience at Sandbox, the largest VR Festival in China. Benjamin is also working on a short content piece with Assembly for Amnesty International in support of worldwide freedom of speech.
In 2015 Benjamin wrote, directed and edited his short film 'Stutterer'. The film has played 100 plus festivals and has won over 25 awards including an Academy Award for best Live Action Short in 2016, a Cannes Young Director Award, a London Critic's Circle Award, an Irish Film and Television Award, an Irish Young Director Award and Best Foreign Film at LA Shorts Fest.
Benjamin's short film 'Wave' featuring Jarvis Cocker premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York in 2017. Wave has played 75 festivals including BFI, Melbourne, Aspen and Clermont Ferrand. It has won 20 awards to date including the national Irish Film and Television Award 2018 for best live action short film, as well as top prizes at Flickerfest, Toronto Shorts, Galway, Leeds, Cork, Kerry and Aesthetica.
